With simplicity and elegance, Open Claim Vineyards celebrates the agrarian heritage of the site by drawing inspiration from Oregon barns. The owners, Brett and Marnie Wall, felt the most intimate exposure to their wine would come if people were invited into their home. Exposed timber trusses frame a 1000 square foot tasting room that incorporates a wood-burning fireplace and plastered chimney. Expansive glass doors extend the space onto the patio, allowing 60 guests to share the experience of both the architecture and landscape. The materials used throughout the project emulate those of nature, giving the home a timeless and cozy character.
